City Council

The form of government established for the City of Pipestone is the "Mayor-Council" plan. The Council is composed of the Mayor and four (4) Council members, all of whom shall be elected at large by and from the electors of the City. The term of each Council member shall be four (4) years and the Mayor shall be a two (2) year term beginning at the time the of the first regular Council meeting in January following an election. The Council exercises the legislative power of the City and determines all matters of policy.
