Snow Events and Winter Weather
OK, so lets talk about……SNOW!! Or more specifically about SNOW REMOVAL!! It’s going to snow here, and no one wants to drive upon said snow. So, please help our City road crews by familiarizing yourself with the winter ordinances.
The City of Pipestone residents and business owners are responsible for removal of any snow and ice that accumulates on the sidewalks immediately adjacent to their property. City officials also encourage residents to help their neighbors and relatives who have a difficulty removing snow from their sidewalks.
There is NO PARKING in the downtown district, as signposted, between the hours of 12:00 midnight to 6:00 a.m., November 1st to April 1st.
Once a snow emergency has been declared there shall be NO PARKING on ANY city streets within the City of Pipestone until the streets are plowed full width-curb to curb. Vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed and towed at owner’s expense. We really DON’T want to ticket or tow vehicles because it ties up our resources and make people cranky. So please, help our crews by following the ordinances.
