The City of Pipestone is seeking a Minnesota State Certified Building Official to serve as the designated Building Official for the City of Pipestone. This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of duties including but not limited to enforcing state building code, managing applications and permits, conducting inspections, completing reporting requirements, and issuing necessary notices or orders. Work is often based on deadlines and performed independently under the general supervision of the City Administrator.

Minimum qualifications for this position include holding a State of Minnesota Residential and Commercial Certified Building Official License, valid Driver’s License and one year of experience serving as a certified building official; or equivalent combination of education/training/experience.

This is a FLSA non-exempt position (overtime eligible) and the wage range for 2026 is $36.20 to $48.34 per hour. Work schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00a.m. – 4:30p.m.

City Treasurer

The City of Pipestone is seeking a self-motivated, customer service minded individual to serve as the City's Treasurer. This position is a 40-hour per week position. This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of duties including but not limited to utility billing, internal cash management, bank account reconciliations, assessment administration, investment management, financial reporting, assisting with the annual audit, and assisting with the preparation of the city's annual budget. Work is often based on deadlines and performed independently under the general supervision of the City Administrator.

Minimum qualifications for this position include an accounting degree or equivalent experience with an emphasis on governmental accounting or utility billing. Five years of work experience in accounting or finance preferred. Knowledge of governmental accounting principles and practices and the ability to apply them is essential.

This is a FLSA non-exempt position (overtime eligible) and the wage range for 2026 is $31.27 to $41.76 per hour. Work schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00a.m. – 4:30p.m.
